Natural saluyot hair rinse formula for scalp care focused beauty lines

This formulation is a clarifying and soothing post-shampoo scalp treatment designed to balance pH, reduce irritation, and deliver vital nutrients directly to the hair follicles. The core active is a potent aqueous extract of Corchorus olitorius (Saluyot), prized for its rich mucilage, vitamins, and anti-inflammatory properties. The formula is structured by weight percentage for scalability. The aqueous infusion phase consists of 76.5% distilled water, 5.0% dried and crushed saluyot leaves, and 3.0% vegetable glycerin. This is synergistically combined with a cool-down phase of active and functional ingredients, including 10.0% raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (with the 'mother') for its clarifying and pH-balancing effects, 2.0% Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) for soothing and strengthening, 1.0% Geogard ECT as a broad-spectrum preservative, 2.0% Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside to solubilize the oils, and 0.5% of a targeted scalp care essential oil blend, such as a mix of peppermint, lavender, and tea tree oils.

The manufacturing protocol begins with the heat phase. Combine the distilled water and vegetable glycerin in a sanitized, heat-proof vessel and heat to 75°C (167°F). Upon reaching temperature, remove from heat, add the dried saluyot leaves, and cover the vessel. Allow the leaves to infuse for a minimum of 30 minutes as the mixture cools, creating a potent, mucilaginous tea. Next, strain the infusion through a fine-mesh filter to remove all plant particulate, pressing the leaves to extract the viscous liquid. It is critical to allow this saluyot infusion to cool to below 40°C (104°F) to protect the integrity of the heat-sensitive ingredients. In a separate sanitized beaker, prepare the oil phase by combining the Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside and the essential oil blend, mixing gently until the solution is clear. This ensures the essential oils are fully solubilized. For the final combination, add the solubilized oil mixture to the cooled saluyot infusion and stir thoroughly. Then, incorporate the raw apple cider vinegar, Panthenol, and Geogard ECT preservative, stirring gently until the rinse is homogenous. The final step is to test the product's pH, aiming for a target range between 4.0 and 5.0. If necessary, adjust downwards with a citric acid solution. The finished rinse should be packaged in sterilized bottles equipped with a nozzle or spray applicator for direct-to-scalp application.

For the end-user, instructions should direct them to apply the rinse after shampooing. They should apply it directly to the scalp, section by section, and massage gently for one to two minutes, letting the product run down the hair shafts. After letting it sit for an additional two to three minutes, they should rinse thoroughly with cool water. Recommended usage is one to two times per week to remove product buildup, soothe itchiness, and promote a healthy scalp environment and natural hair shine.
