Sustainable Practices.

Let me tell you all something. When I was a kid, I used to take care of my grandfather’s small vegetable garden behind our house. He showed me that nothing in the garden is useless. He reused eggshells, dry leaves, vegetable washing water, even stones and wood pieces he collected from the nearby river. Back then, I thought his main goal was just to save money. Well, I was right, but now I understand it’s not only about saving money; it’s also beneficial for the environment. Why should we waste those things? With recent forest fires, this lesson resonates with me even more. The gifts of nature are truly valuable.

The other day, I randomly met an old friend at a cafe. When I mentioned those old memories, he told me about his project to recycle plastic bottles. It made me laugh, realizing how two like minds had come together. He said, "You know, with creativity, any piece of garbage can become something wonderful." Although I initially thought he was joking, I seriously reflected on his words. With resources dwindling as they are today, we'll soon run out of everyday essentials. Why not quickly start recycling? He showed me photos of his workplace, where old plastic bottles have been turned into furniture and lovely plant pots. He said this idea not only reduces plastic waste but also creates jobs for the local community.

Once again, I met an acquaintance at the post office near my place. She brought homemade soap made from used coffee grounds to display at the showcase there. I suddenly had the idea to help her with free marketing in exchange for trying out the soap. She was overjoyed, "I’m so glad someone like you pays attention to my products. Most people just buy branded soap and don't care about what I make."

I didn't really understand it either. So I asked, "How did you come up with this?" She smiled, "I read and researched, and found that coffee grounds are a great exfoliant. To make this unique soap, I collect coffee grounds from local cafes and mix them with other natural ingredients." What's interesting is that not only did she find a solution for coffee ground waste, but she also made a profit from this recycled product. She even enthusiastically invited the whole neighborhood to join in, with each person taking on a different task.

After that meeting, I began to think about how to make the most of the resources we have. Could it be that not everything we consider waste, like coffee grounds, is useless? With a little skill and creativity, what we consider trash could be transformed into something useful, profitable, and beneficial for society and the environment. Imagine applying this concept on a larger scale. What do you think?
