Stonecrop / Sedum-Type Seeds – Identity & Count Pending

Stonecrop-type seeds: identity and pack count pending

Important: the exact seed species, cultivar and packaged quantity have not been verified. This is an existing ornamental seed listing previously labeled “Autumn Joy Sedum” and advertised as four packets of 1,000 seeds. The catalog record and older gallery descriptions are not sufficient to confirm those details for a physical seed lot. Check the actual seed packet and supplier documentation before purchasing, planting or fulfilling this listing.

Is this the genuine 'Autumn Joy' cultivar?

Not established. The commonly grown Autumn Joy stonecrop is a named Hylotelephium cultivar, also associated with the name 'Herbstfreude' and historically sold under Sedum names. The Royal Horticultural Society and Missouri Botanical Garden recommend propagating that named plant by division or stem cuttings. Seeds from plants bearing its name are not proof that the resulting plants will be identical to the named cultivar.

Without a documented source and identification of the actual seed lot, this listing must not promise 'Autumn Joy' cultivar fidelity, a particular flower color, adult height, bloom schedule or germination percentage.

What will the package contain?

• Catalog category: Ornamental stonecrop-type seeds, previously associated with Sedum / Hylotelephium naming.
• Exact species and cultivar: Pending verification against the seller's lot and supplier records.
• Packet quantity: Previously described as four packs of 1,000 seeds; not independently counted or verified.
• Germination rate, purity, harvest date and seed treatment: Not established by current records.
• Plant form: Seeds for planting, not an established 'Autumn Joy' live plant, rooted cutting or division.

Growing context, not a seed-lot guarantee

Established Hylotelephium stonecrop plants typically favor good drainage and generally perform in sunny garden positions. RHS and university horticulture references describe drought tolerance in established plants of the named cultivar, not tested germination conditions for this unknown packet. Avoid relying on the former listing's fixed 14–28-day germination promise, or its exact temperature and spacing numbers, until the species is verified and packet-specific sowing information is available.

Seed-grown plants, if viable and correctly identified, can vary in flowering appearance and growing behavior. Do not treat a photo of an established cultivar as proof of the identity, appearance or viability of loose seed. Review any local suitability and planting guidance for the species actually supplied.

Before ordering

Request a current photo of the physical packet, a documented botanical species or cultivar name, actual seed-count or package-count verification, and any available lot testing. If those facts cannot be confirmed, do not assume the pictured flowering plant will grow from the offered seeds.
